I had a couple of reservations while I was thinking about picking up the Canon A1100 Powershot. Allow me to clarify. I am what you might think of as "old-school." I grew up listening to retro music: Al Greene, The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, etc. My photographs came from rolls of film, so it appeared a little scary for all of my photographs to come from a plastic chip. I took the plunge anyhow, and I really must say I'm really more than delighted with my Canon.
My Canon A1100 Powershot is really easy to use - even if you have never used a digital camera. This thing snaps photographs right out of the package; and the automatic photo setting (plus not less than 9 more settings) has made it that much simpler. If you're new to photography, start with the Easy mode -- it makes all the choices for you. As soon as you're comfortable taking photos you can start playing with the other settings.
All of my pics so far have been nothing less than magnificent, thanks to the auto-mode. Even after enlarging them up to 8 x 10, the pictures are still as sharp as cut glass. The software that's provided with the
Canon Powershot A1100 is very easy to use, as well. It remembers the photographs that are already downloaded to your PC and will not upload duplicate pictures.
At first glance, the switches looked a little daunting. After I actually looked at the switches and their labels, though, I realized they weren't very difficult at all. If I did get lost, there is a user guide that's fairly easy to read. Because of the Canon A1100 Powershot, old-school meets new-school. 21st century, here I am.
